I, myself, have not yet read the entire series (I have the first book, and have only read the first chapter, but I do hope to read it soon because I really enjoy the first part :D). But from what I have heard about the Soul Screamers series, and from reading the first four books in her AWESOME Shifter series, I can not wait to dive into it.

Here is the trailer for the fourth book, My Soul to Steal...

Cover Revealed! - City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

The cover for the fourth book in The Mortal Instruments series has finally been revealed!

Isn't it pretty? :D

I absolutely love this series! - Although I have not yet read the first Infernal Devices book, Clockwork Angel, I hope to get to it soon.

Anyway, apparently the next three books in The Mortal Instruments series will feature two of the series characters on the front covers. On CoFA's cover is Clary and Simon. This is to indicate the start of a new adventure, but at the same time it will still go well with the previous covers. So far I've loved the cover art to this series - including CoFA and Clockwork Angel.

If you haven't read this series yet then you should because it is AMAZING!

If you want more information about this post or want to read an excert for CoFA check out Cassandra's blog, and while you're there check out the update post about the TMI movie - Clary has already been cast!

My Review for 'Mercy' by Rebecca Lim

Book Description from GoodReads:

An electric combination of angels, mystery and romance, MERCY is the first book in a major new paranormal series.

There's something very wrong with me. I can't remember who I am or how old I am, or even how I got here. All I know is that when I wake up, I could be any one. It is always this way. There's nothing I can keep with me that will stay. It's made me adaptable. I must always re-establish ties. I must tread carefully or give myself away. I must survive.

Mercy doesn't realise it yet, but as she journeys into the darkest places of the human soul, she discovers that she is one of the celestial host exiled with fallen angel, Lucifer. Now she must atone for taking his side. To find her own way back to heaven, Mercy must help a series of humans in crisis and keep the unwary from getting caught up in the games that angels play. Ultimately she must choose between her immortal companion, Lucifer, and a human boy who risks everything for her love.

Mercy, who is the main character (thus the title of the book), has no idea who she is or who her next human host will be. The only thing she knows is that there is a reason why she is placed within these people... it's because they need her help. Once her job is done she is moved on to another person. But when she inhabits the body of a teenage girl, named Carmen, she soon finds herself involved in a search for a missing girl. Partnered with the missing girl's brother, Ryan, Mercy uses her skills to aid him, even though being near him stirs up something inside her that she doesn't understand. Meanwhile, her dreams are becoming invaded by a man, named Luc, who warns her to be aware of danger and to keep moving. But from what?

I really enjoyed reading Mercy. It is definitely not what I had expected, but I still liked it none the less. The first chapter or two was a bit confusing, but once I got through that point it was smooth sailing. I found that my reaction to the beginnings confusion was similar to other books I have read, and may I say that these books I had also found myself a bit confused with became some of my all time favourites! Although at the end there were some questions and things left unsolved, and I can only hope that they will be resolved in the next instalments.

I really liked this book, It had ordinary teen dramas and social life mixed with a bit of action, problem solving and mystery. I really love the cover for this book, too. It's quite eye catching with the cover themed in different shades of blue. I wish I had heard about this book for more then a month before it came out, because it is a book worth some anticipation. Well, at least I can look forward to the next books, Exile and Muse, to come out.

Order of Books in the series:
-Mercy #1 (OUT NOW!)
-Exile #2 (2011)
-Muse #3 (2011)
-*Book to still be named* #4

I'm Back!! :)

Yes, I'm back! It's been over a month since my last post, and a little longer since my last review :(...
I guess that's what happens near the end of year 12. Crash time is absolutely no fun, re-editing, re-submitting and handing work up to all your subject teachers is stressful and confusing. But once it's done, and everything's finished, it feels great!

... then all that's left is completing applications for University and TAFE :/

But now that they're completed too, I'm back and ready to continue :D
First up will be an IMM post (considering it has been so close to TWO months since my first one :S), and since I haven't posted my review for Firelight it will be my next post which should be up tomorrow. My Mercy review should be up by Friday, and sometime next week I hope to have another book read and ready to review :D

Oh, I'd also liked to congratulate the FOUR winners of the 'AFTERLIFE SWAG PACKS!' (yes, four winners this month!-look to the gadget on the right), thought it would be nice to add an extra winner considering I have now reached 50 FOLLOWERS! I'm so happy :D (I will be mailing your 'swag packs' out tomorrow). And because I have reached 50 Followers I will be having another giveaway sometime this month or early next month, so keep an eye out.

My Review for 'Personal Demons' by Lisa Desrochers

Book Description from GoodReads:

Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She's spent years keeping everyone at a distance—even her closest friends—and it seems her senior year will be more of the same...until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can't seem to stay away from him. What she doesn't know is that Luc works in Acquisitions—for Hell—and she possesses a unique skill set that has the King of Hell tingling with anticipation. All Luc has to do is get her to sin, and he’s as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance.

Unfortunately for Luc, Heaven has other plans, and the angel, Gabe, is going to do whatever it takes to make sure that Luc doesn’t get what he came for. And it isn't long before they find themselves fighting for more than just her soul.

But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay…for all of them.

Frannie is the main character of the story as it all revolves around her. She is a spunky and quick-witted seventeen-year-old girl, who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and voice her opinions. But when she meets two equally handsome, but totally different teenaged boys, Lucifer (Luc) and Gabriel (Gabe), she’s completely baffled by them. Both make her feel things she never knew she could feel. Lucifer is wild, sexy and dangerous, providing Frannie with excitement and freedom, whereas Gabe makes her feel safe and warm, like she will fall without his support. Frannie’s family is quite religious, due to her father being very involved in the Catholic Church, but Frannie’s lost her faith in her family’s religion, and has begun to believe there’s no higher power watching and guiding her. Frannie wasn’t always an atheist, there was a time where she was just like the rest of her family, praying and believing in God. But that all changed when her brother died, leaving her feeling guilty and alone. She felt as though no one could hear her pleas, which made her question her faith. Once she meets Lucifer and Gabriel, and finds out who they really are and why they are pursuing her, she starts to regain a bit of her faith.

Luc is a tracking demon sent to tag Frannie’s soul for hell at (The Devil) Lucifer’s request. He’s sly and sexy, and loves to create tension between Frannie and her friends for his own amusement. But when Gabriel comes into the picture, Luc feels threatened and experiences emotions he never knew he had. Luc sets out to be the only object of interest in Frannie’s life, but the longer he’s around Frannie the more he can’t get her out of his mind. He ends up being consumed by her. Once he realises he’s in love with Frannie he changes his mission from trying to tag her for hell to protecting her from his demon brethren sent to do his abandoned mission. And if it came down to it he’d gladly trade his own life, and soul, for hers.

Gabriel (Gabe) is the guardian angel who’s sent down to earth from heaven and is given the mission to restore Frannie’s faith and guide her into the light. He’s angelic and sweet, like the sun that shines through the darkness, giving Frannie light and sanctuary. He helps Frannie with her guilt and past, to help her forgive herself for what haunts her and for what she keeps blaming herself. He’s not there to just purely tag her for heaven but to also help her wake up from the nightmare she forces on herself. Gabe guides Frannie into making the right decisions, even if the decisions are towards the alternative side, ultimately showing her to trust her own heart and believe in herself.

I really enjoyed reading Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers, it was an absolutely unique experience. I was glued to the book and oblivious to the world around me. This book had everything I loved and more. I was never bored while reading Personal Demons; it always had something bigger and better around each corner. I loved the characters and the relationships between them. I couldn’t stop thinking about this book well after I had finished it. For a 2010 debut novel it was brilliant! It’s one of my favourite books and I can’t wait until 2011 and 2012 for the next two in the trilogy.

-Original Sin #2 (July 2011)

My Review for 'Paranormalcy' by Kiersten White

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie's always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

First off, I absolutely loved Evie. Her charm, wit and curiousness was what one me over from the beginning. Throughout the book I found myself needing to know what funny thing she would do or say next.

The pace was great, not once was I bored or wanting a break. It was like my hands turned the pages themselves. the story line was good, not what I expected, but truly original. Using interesting paranormal creatures and tweaking them to add a little difference to there traditional lore. It was pure genius!

Kiersten certainly did not disappoint. I found that her characters had a way of touching my heart, wishing I had a friend like Evie and an admirer like Lend. I could not help but smile while reading Paranormalcy. Except for the times when Evie was feeling down, my emotions ended up mimicking hers.

Evie was so glamours, even when paranormals were glamourless to her, she could fall down and come back up still fighting. With Action around every conner and my suspicions of certain characters running wild, I was totally consumed. I, honestly, can not wait to find out what happens next! ... Oh, Beep. I'm Hooked!

-Supernaturally #2 (2011)
